Updating the app
The flowviant daemon updates itself. It checks for a new version at startup and again whenever it’s idle between turns, so a machine that’s been running for a while picks up new releases on its own — you don’t run an update command by hand. It never updates in the middle of a turn.
If a machine has fallen behind the latest published version, the Machines page says so on that machine’s row and names the version it’s missing. This only shows up when a machine actually reports an old version; if a machine hasn’t been heard from at all, the page has nothing to compare and stays quiet. A machine that’s stopped running can’t update itself either — since there’s no process to do the checking — so if a row looks stuck on an old version, start flowviant on that computer again and it picks up the current release on its own.
On Windows, the tray app — download it from flowviant.com/download — bundles its own copy of the daemon for projects checked out inside WSL. The tray app itself updates the way any desktop app does: install a new version from the same download link when one’s available.
See Machines for what the Machines page shows about a machine in general, and Removing a machine for taking one out of use entirely.
