Write your first card
A card is one piece of work. You create it from the Board with New task — either the dashed row at the foot of Open, or the button in the Board header.
Two ways to fill it in
By default, New task opens a chat with your own Claude, running on your connected machine. Describe what you want in your own words — “I want to build …”, “Show me a mockup of …”, “Find out how …” are three starting points — and Claude turns the conversation into draft cards beside it. You can edit any draft’s title, brief, kind and acceptance criteria before landing it; nothing is written to the board until you press the landing button, and it lands exactly what you edited, not what Claude proposed.
If no machine is connected, or the connected one is too old, New task opens a plain form instead. You can also switch to it any time from the chat window’s menu (Fill it in by hand), and back again (Back to the chat) — switching never loses the conversation underneath.
What to fill in
Only the title is required. The rest — brief, acceptance criteria, and which files or folders the card owns — helps whoever works the card and grounds the review that happens later. See Writing a good card for what each field is for.
What happens next
Creating a card puts it in Open. Nothing starts by itself: an agent begins work only once you select the card and press Plan. See Columns and what they mean for what happens from there.
